MFI started business in
1985 repairing aircraft (A/C) parts. The men starting the business already
had nearly 100 years experience in that field. Since that time, MFI
has evolved into a business that utilizes its extensive know how and
equipment inventory to repair a multitude of high-value mechanical parts.
Combining our welding and thermal spraying capabilities with our large
capacity lathe (200") and mill (48"x48") we are able to
weld, coat and machine or grind the repaired area. Much of our
repair work is on shaft fits that have become worn, undersized, or
otherwise unusable. Key ways or deep damage can be weld repaired,
spraying large areas has the advantage of not distorting the part and
imparting a more wear or corrosion resistant surface. Our machines
and gages are certified to A/C standards.
Among the other types of parts we repair are pump seals and packing fits
on shafts. Ceramic coatings are diamond ground and lapped to two
light bands flatness.
Other industries we service include, but are not limited to: diesel
engine; railroad and light rail components; food processing and power generator
parts.
